I have owned this item for 1 1/2 years. The copper turns patina after the first use, but it still has a great look. If you have small children, beware, the bowl gets very hot. I love this fire bowl, but it does have a few cons. Because it sits so low, the wind will blow smoke directly into your face. Also, if you are concerned about flying embers, this may not be ideal for you. It looks great sitting on your patio away from dry vegetation, and can be easily transported to a campsite. I would recommend that you cover it or put it in the garage when it rains though, because we allowed water to sit in the bottom of ours, and it eventually got a hole in it. We are currently using a cast iron chiminea that is open all the way around, and it suits us better mainly because the smoke shoots up as opposed to at us and we avoid the ember problem.
